What's New in Antiques

Photo Album

Be sure to visit our photo album to see a sampling of the antique pieces we currently have in store.  We will be updating the albums regularly so be sure to bookmark this site and check back often!  Because of the number of items we carry, we are unable to photograph every piece, so if you don't see what you are looking for, it's a good idea to stop by the store and have a look around.  We may just have the perfect antique for you!

Did you know?

Country Lane Antiques opened a new area of their showroom - the basement! If you haven't visited Country Lane in a while, stop by and explore our downstairs area, which is nearly as big as upstairs.  You will find lots of antique furniture treasures such as harvest tables, benches, baby cradles, washstands, stained glass windows, corner cupboards and much more!

In the future we will be opening up another area to offer our clients the best possible selection of primitive antique furniture from across Canada. Watch for updates!

Antiques - As Green as it Gets!

Aside from the obvious reasons to purchase antique furniture for your home (beauty, history, value), there is another reason that antique pieces are an excellent choice -- the environment.
Antiques do not deplete any of our existing natural resources.  No new trees are being cut to make them.

Part of the fun of recylcling is finding new ways to use existing items.  It's great for the environment --and great for stylish living!

Re-Purposing - The Best of Both Worlds

At Country Lane Antiques our goal is to make historical items relevant and useful in our lives today.  We call it "re-purposing" and it is an excellent way to bring all of the warmth, history and charm of antiques into your home, cottage or condo.

One of our favourite items to re-purpose is the handmade workbench.
Once pioneers had settled in an area, one of the first things they needed to do was have a space to begin building their homes, outbuildings, tools and furniture. Before they could build the rest of life's essentials, they needed to build a workbench.  These antique benches for woodworking come in many
shapes and sizes - often quite large.  Each is unique and handcrafted.

Today, we use them as kitchen islands, TV stands, sideboards, bars or even dining room tables.  Workbenches are uncommon and sell quickly.  If you would like to add your name to the waiting list, please come visit us, or email CountryLaneAntiques@shaw.ca

Antique Workbench from Country Lane Antiques

Using half a boat as a unique shelving unit?  Why not?  It's conversation pieces like these that can add a great focal point to any room.  No longer sea-worthy, she stands proud in your home - instead of being relegated to the firewood pile.

Believe it or not, an old sleigh makes a great coffee table.
These sleigh tables are great for your condo at Whistler, up at the cabin, or in your cozy living room.  If you would like to be added to our waiting list for one of these rare and beautiful tables, please contact us today!
